How much did all that cost in Australia?
>>
>>51573671
Some of the parts have dropped in price since i bought them also I have far more important things to spend my money on
>>

Hope your gamble pays off. Couldn't do it myself, the reviews were too bad. Had to go with Gigabyte.

Like what?
You can't spare $1000 on a moments notice?
Are you even employed?
>>
960ti is about to drop.
If you were impatient and in the 960 price range you should have bought AMD.
>>
>>51573710
This.

I love asus, but the amount of fucking issues they're having with Z170, combined with the lack of PCIe reinforcement meant i've abandoned them this gen.

So everyone, let's tally the problems:
>BOUGHT WINDOWS 10
>No SSD
>GTX 960
>Wasted money on a snakeoil strap
>Case is probably some shitty overpriced ricer looking thing
>Bought a corsair PSU without the 5/7 year warranty
>>
That better not fucking be a WD black drive
>>
>>51573764
what's wrong with wd black drives? not op, but i was just about to buy one.

They are literally WD blues with a black sticker for twice the price.
>>
>>51573826
gonna go with a hitachi drive then, thank you.
>>
>>51573822
The more i look at, the more i'm sure this is some seller trolling us.
Nobody can be this retarded, can they?
>>
This has got to be a troll post.

Like, dude, no ssd is the dumbest decision of all time, and that's only like 1 of several problems I see.

Also, who buys windows lol. So easily torrented + activated.
>>
>>51573834
Good choice uleh
>>
>>51573578
I laughed at that anti static strap.

I've built like 10 PCs over the year and thumbled around in cases countless times without bothering to ground myself in any way. Yet I never had a single component die on me apart from HDDs and a PSU, but neither had shit all to do with grounding.

Also especially on your budget you should have gone for a used GPU. I don't get why people on a budget don't do it.
>>
>>51573983
Because people are stupid and think new = better

Nevermind for the price of that 960 he could've had a clocked 280X and got damn near twice the performance
>>
>>51573578
mng picture upside down
are you from Australia ?
no case? why the fuck do you need a antistatic band? no SSD ? only 1 TB HDD?

>>

>anti static strap
Just fucking touch metal before touching any components
Literally just touch your case or the screws and you'll fucking discharge any static you have.
Only a retard believes that wearing a 'strap' will protect to components from static damage.
>>
>>51573578
g8 b8 m8 :^)
>>
>>51573743
I'm thinking of doing this next week.
Is anyone interested in a step by step build?
>>
>>51574309
just setup a stream on hitbox, twitch or jewtube and post the link on /g/
>>
>>51574346
No, but I will give pictures and post instructions / answer questions.

It is a i7 6600 build with an m.2 drive. Reusing my case, hard drive and gpu.
>>
>>51573578
>Cx series power supply

You done goofed
>>
>>51573682
I can't believe nobody threw you a 'kek' at least for this.

kekworthy
>>
>>51574083
>Only a retard believes that wearing a 'strap' will protect to components from static damage.

Yes and what I'm saying is that even touching case (which you will do anyway to seat components) is already tinfoil-hat cautious. PC components aren't trying to disintegrate the moment you look at them the wrong way.

The exception is just to use common sense that you ground yourself if you have some kind of carpet or something anywhere where you are constantly getting electric shocks when you touch doorhandles. But in that case you should throw away that carpet anyway.
>>
>>51574714
this guy knows what's going on
>>
>>51573578
>green pus
>red gpu
>silver mobo
>etc
First build i assume? you'll get there buddy, keep trying
>>
>>51573578
Pretty damn retarded/10
>overpriced CPU and GPU
>shit PSU
>shit cooler
>no SSD
You could've build a much more powerful PC if you didn't get skylel and a 960
>>
>>51574714
I literally built PCs on carpet. Used mainboards directly on carpet. Never grounded myself. Everything I built works fine to this day.
>>
>>51573656
>i5
>overkill
Ok buddy
>>
>>51573671

Such a dickhead question to ask, but I was wondering the same thing. If OP is employed then surely he should be able to save at least $100 a month giving him a bigger budget after a year and a half.

That's a decent build though.

>not the best budget cooler

nigga pls go

other than that i agree. retard americans, why do you insist on buying anything but seasonic when any other worthwhile brands (high end corsair, xfx) are literally seasonic rebrands
>>
>>51573679
how else is he going to get it?
>>
>>51575316
Get a pirated windows 7 and upgrade to windows 10.

But I wouldn't be surprised if Microsoft pulls the plug some day on those shady licensed Windows 10s. Then again maybe Linux can into games by the time that happens.

Other idea would be to ask a university student for his Windows 8 key off Dreamspark, since nobody uses that anyway and upgrade that to 10.

I think paying for the OS isn't a terrible idea, on a budget I wouldn't do it though.
>>
>>51575411
>2015
>pirating digital goods
this is highly illegal and you will eventually go to jail.
>>
>>51575411
what about skipping the middleman and just getting a pirated windows 10?
>>
>>51575411
I've heard that you can just install the OS on a flash drive, install it, and buy an activation code for just about $20 off a trusted source. Sounds better than risking deactivation or even going to jail.
>>
>>51575437
Because it eliminates having to run some KMS program all the tiem on Windows 10.
>>
>>51575411
they will never deactive valid activations done through win 7 daz loader upgrades however the key is linked to your hardware and if you get a new rig you have to call micosoft to get it transferred so they might ask for the win7 key at this point.
>>
>>51573703
>buying parents before you build
You are retarded
>>
>>51575507
So even if you buy a legit copy you cant install it on new hardware?
>>
>>51575638
no with a retail copy you still get a license key
>>
Looks good OP. Good luck!!

inb4 fags dissing his build. It's a good build. and the 960 is all he needs.

but OP. they have 2x4gb sets of ripjaws right now for 30 each. some good deals right now. I would have waited for this week to finish it. but all is well
>>
>>51575717
also i now noticed you didn't get an ssd. now is the best time to get one. There was an OCZ Arc 100 for 25 dollars on Jet yesterday...
>>
>>51574964
On /g/ or compared to rich fags with rich parents. They'll talk shit about anything. It's like the new age fake gamer things. All they care about is their actual hardware and new trendy game every week. real gamers stick to their main setup for years.hell I have a i5 4460 and see no reason to even upgrade.maybe next year
>>
>>51573578
>>>/v/
