>GTX 960 is faster than a GTX780 thanks to drivers

Not really, this was expected to be done last year actually.
I for one am actually glad they dragged their drivers until now.
>>
>>51505099
>Five year old GPUs are moved to legacy support
As opposed to what? Trying to kill them by overvoltage them like Nvidia did with the 500 series?

You're right, AMD is such a scummy company.

Source?
>>
>Update: As a couple of you have now asked, it should also be noted that this retirement includes all APUs using the legacy GPU architectures. So all pre-Kavari APUs: Llano, Trinity, and Richland, are now also legacy APUs

APUFAGS CONFIRMED ON SUICIDE WATCH

The articles aren't as easy to find now as they were at the time but here's one
http://modcrash.com/nvidia-display-driver-damaging-gpus/

It wasn't their first time and it wasn't their last. The latest hardware killing driver was hilarious because it was pushed out by windows 10 automatic updates, essentially forcing broken drivers that were certified out to customers.
>>
>>51505414
holy fuck

all i remember is the one like 3 years ago when the fans turned off, almost literally causing housefires.
>>
>>51505358
Slightly annoying but my a6-4455m *is* showing its age. It's about time for an update, though it'll be hard to find a deal as good as that laptop was at the time since it was a pricing error.

Here's a newer one
http://m.gadgets.ndtv.com/laptops/news/windows-10-is-killing-nvidia-graphics-cards-720443
And some forum posts about the affected laptops with regards to the screens not working
https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/862417/geforce-drivers/windows-10-geforce-drivers-are-killing-samsung-and-lg-notebook-lcd-display-panels/

Nvidia seriously needs quality control on their drivers BEFORE they certify them. From what I've understood of the WHQL system, nvidia self-certify the drivers. I would call it a disaster waiting to happen but it's already happened. Repeatedly.
>>
>>51505099
are you kidding? its been that way in practice for at least 2 years
>>
>>51505509
Every year nvidia drivers kills cards.

>nvidia has drivers
kek
>>
>>51505573
nvidia has no cards
>>
Nvidia drivers don't kill anything, just buttmad AMDPOORFAG lies

The 320 driver is still available for download, it's amazing that TDR crashes is considering killing, talk about retarded and clueless people, Modcrash really don't even know shit
>>
>>51505620
>The 320 driver is still available for download
This is disturbing in and of itself.

The fact that some of the drivers are simply extremely problematic and not outright destructive is not a point in their favour. You would do well to steer clear of nvidia drivers on launch day, even the certified ones. This is not possible on windows 10, of course.
