Win Mobile 10 won't get android app support

I knew it was bullshit when I first heard about it.

I feel like running android applications on Windows phone would be a bad idea anyways. One of the strengths of Windows phone is that the applications that are made natively for it are really nice. I would be worried that android applications on Windows phone would destroy the unique design language that Windows phone has. Besides the hardware, why would I buy a Windows phone when I can just run Android on an android phone natively?

Windows should do it owns thing. They have the manpower and industry prowess to work with major app developers to port over the most used apps to Windows platforms so they run natively.

What I would really like is for Windows to develop their own alternative to these popular apps and fuck up the shitty Android ecosystem for good. I hate Android so much, it is a fucking nightmare on mobile devices.

I was given an android phone and I am regretting it. I am saving money to get a decent Windows phone now that I have Win10 on my laptop. I want to see how they harmonize with each other. All I need is some apps to support my lifestyle.

IMO, that was a failed attempt... to think you could run android as a subsystem inside a hyper-v machine on a phone, and not have it lag to hell and back... that was ridiculous.

I do fin the fact that they brought hyper-v over to phones fascinating. Let's wait for a x86 based windows phone, and run some funny OSes on our phones. Could be fun.

Also, the approach to iOS app porting is much nicer.

It could be as close as possible to what you consider a normal desktop OS on a phone. I'm really waiting to see someone put some mobile intel CPU into a phone and let it run whatever the user wants.

well it is. it literary corrodes and makes unusable every hardware it touches. Just had cousin around last week with LG G3. My mothers L630 way way way smoother when launching apps and scrolling then that.
IT is so bad that they had to remove it from the win 10 mobile because it ruined the performance of the OS

I've read this earlier. They had two problems with Android support as I recall.

One is that Android allows some system functions to be vendor definable; they use different services per vendor. If MS emulates that, they have to emulate all different vendor specific functions too (for apps that check this), which is impossible on the long run.

The other is that it would essentially kill all Windows Mobile app development, since everyone could just write for Android, as WP can emulate it. That would seriously piss off the little developer base they have.

I think they can still get IOS apps to work, though. Or was that just "we made it super cheap for you to recompile your IOS apps for WP"? I forgot.
