Two Android questions.

1. Check out the attached screenshot. What are the differences between data and cache? What exactly are they?

2. Is there a dedicated app for searching Kickass Torrents + Pirate Bay? I can't find a good one.
>>
Is there a certain way you start looking for parts?

Usually I look for stuff in the following order:
>CPU
>Mobo
>RAM
>GPU
>PSU
>Case
>Case fans
>3rd party CPU cooling (if needed)
>PCI WiFi-card (the cable is a fucking hassle)

Also, I'm looking for a new CPU/Mobo setup to replace my ASUS Crosshair IV Formula (old-school AM3 socket) and the AMD Athlon II X4 620 (from back when AMD knew what they were doing). I'm thinking Intel now. I have DDR3 RAM (Vengeance Dominator 2x8GB @ 2400MHz max), and I don't want to spend more money than I need, so I want my mobo to be compatible with this RAM. Should I go for the 1050 socket or the 1051 socket, and what CPU do you recommend for a non-ridiculous budget? I'm willing to go high end, but I don't pay 80$ for another 0.1 GHz.

And finally, is the Z97/Z170 the only chipsets that allow overclocking (I read this online in an article written this summer)?

I like doing my homework before buying anything.

AMD is infinitely better for cracking passwords and mining than NVidia
>>
>>51378634
Not an expert, but I think Data is stuff that you've chosen to save or resources (files) you've used inside the app. Cache is stuff that the app needs to remember where you were so you can continue from the same spot you jumped out of the app from. So Data is a way to quickly access resources, while Cache is a way for the app to keep track of what it is/was doing for later. I'm no expert tho, so take it with a grain of salt.

Let's say for instance I've got a pretty decent receiver. Let's also say that I have a 5.1 surround sound system connected to this specific receiver. If i plug in things such as a blu ray player, ps4 and whatnot. Will the sound always come through my surround sound system in 5.1 format and 2.1 when not possible? Will my receiver always hijack the sound and send it to my surround sound system and always pass my image through to my TV?

Not a question, but just saying in case I might help someone;

Protip: If you actual gayme and have a soft mousepad you paid hella dosh for, cut your fucking nails before you use it, fucking hell.

I saw a thread the other day where someone said they're getting a Qck Mass cause their old pad had cumstains on it "for some reason", and I thought to myself, "mines does too", but I just looked at it and it's just my neglected, NEET fingernails scratching on my poor cloth mousepad.

Dunno if this care should be applied to hard pads. Probably not, since the mouse itself gliding on them sounds like scraping.

It depends on the client.
If they want to spend about $600-800 for something that's going to sit on some college boy's desk, I choose the cheapest case that's not a Xion. Then I pick and match parts based on what remains of their budget and how well they go aesthetically.

If it's for someone who needs his computer for work, then I figure out what programs they use so I can pick the right CPU and motherboard combo for the job. Usually, the type and size of RAM needed comes into play here, as well as backwards compatibility with older parts.

If it's for fun, then I pick the GPU first and try to build the cheapest computer around that.

I'm an American, and generally speaking, the women here are pretty loose if you're at least a 6/10 and can show off some wealth. If all else fails, there's tons of available porn.

Best case scenario, you get an evening of fun. Worst case, you get something lumpy and contagious, as well as potentially stabbed or fucked with a large, knobby cock.

I recently got an mITX case for free, and kind of want to build a 1080p fuck around build for around $500. How does this look?

Intel G3258 - $50
AsRock H97M-ITX/AC - $60 (Built in AC wifi, nice)
Mushkin ECO2 2x4GB RAM - $40
R9 380 4GB - $190 (Will the CPU bottleneck this?)
Corsair RMx 550W - $60
250GB SSD - $80

That would bring me to ~$480 all in.
My questions are:
Can I get away with a dual core CPU in 2015?
Will the GPU be bottlenecked by the CPU?
Is that GPU overkill for medium-high 1080p@60hz gaming?

I recently picked up two monitors for cheap. I intended to use both of them with my ASUS ROG G75VW laptop (I got it as a gift). I thought I found that my model would support 3 displays at once, that is, my laptop screen and my two new monitors, but the normal windows multiple monitor setup only lets me connect two at maximum. I have one monitor connected by VGA, and the other by VGA connected to an HDMI converter, since I only have one VGA and one HDMI input on my laptop.

Is it possible for me to use the other monitor through other means? I have a laptop, so you know I don't know much about the inner workings going on here.

Would a GTX 950 be better suited to this build? I just want to be able to play games on the TV better than a console.

I'd rather not support nvidia, but it seems as though amd doesn't really have any lower-power small form factor gpus
>>

No
If you can't find a blower 380, then you better start whoring your ass for another $100 so you can buy an XFX 390 Blower, which is the only blower reference AMD card for this generation. Or a used 290 blower.
>>
>>51383221
I already have a PC with a 4790k/980Ti to play my gaymes on. Like I said, this is for fucking around/HTPC/console-esq gaming. The $500 is a hard limit because it's just not worth it to me to invest any more than that.

A used 290 was probably mined to hell and back and would surely die in this case, no?

If you're really careful, you can mix it with mineral oil (or canola, in a a pinch) in a clean spoon or other metal container to rehydrate it for use. Be sure not to get any dust or hairs in it.

USB's can be all over the place in terms of actual speed, whereas SATA is usually consistent.

Find it hard to believe internal is more expensive considering it doesn't need a power regulator, enclosure, etc.

The smart thing would be to buy a SSD for booting, and then a massive external for data imo.

just remember that it's highly recommended to make both cards run at the same clock speeds (either overclock one or under clock the other). if they aren't at the same clock speeds you may have issues with the top and the bottom half of the frame not matching up.
also if you have say a 2 gig card and a 4 gig card you will be limited to 2 gigs effective

>>51389185
Black Friday is the big day, yes.

Don't let the name "Cyber Monday" fool you, it only means that the discounts are for "shopping online", and most of the discounts are for clothes and other "the whole store is on sale"-stuff. I'm sure there will be some discounts on computer parts as well, but Black Friday is the big day for computer components.

What's bottle necking me here? Underwater pipes? I get drastically better speeds at night.

In general, yes
Aero uses a lot of extra gpu memory
And it also causes a lot of input lag and judder (unless you use true fullscreen mode which overrides the compositor)

Does anyone know a trustworhy and cheap or even free dyndns service, where i can use my own domain? I only found services where a domain is inclouded.
>>
>>51390382
I would also be interested in this, but I doubt it exists.
>>
>>51390447
I found something interesting, the problem is that's a German site. There you pay 11,88€ per year for a dyndns with own domain plus 4,50€ for the following endings: .com, .net, .org, .biz, .info, .name und .eu
seems really cheap. But the contract period is 12 months..

here's the link:

I want to buy a new monitor for gayming, but also with good colors, sadly IPS panels with the quality for vidyas are expensive, so I chose a VA panel.. Atm I think about getting the Eizo Foris FG2421 for ~370€. Is there anything better for this price? I could go to 600€.
>>
Let's say, hypothetically, that someone who knows nothing about computers tried to upgrade their graphics card. Upon putting the new GPU in, this hypothetical person god no video on their monitor, despite the computer appearing to post successfully. Reverting back to the old GPU still resulted in a black monitor screen. What would you advise, in this completely hypothetical situation?
>>
>>51390711
That's insanely overpriced

>>51390382
You own the domain, you can set it to what you want. You don't need a dyndns service, just a dns provider that has an accessible API.

#!/bin/sh

while true; do
MY_IP="$(curl ifconfig.me)"
# Post update via API to DNS provider
sleep 3600
done

I've noticed something when deleting files from Fat32 micro sd card under linux, it get corrupted.
Is that a known issue? I looked it up but nothing comes up.
No the said sd card won't get detected.
Or could the micro sd card reader failing?
Also when I try to eject USB mass storage device or something I get a notification about needing to write some files, but I'm not moving any files whatsoever , could this be the cause?

VA is best but getting the FG2421 is a panel lottery
For 600€ you may be able to get one of those FreeSync/G-Sync IPS monitors (there are 2-3)
These have very low pixels response times

I'm looking at upgrading my video card on my laptop.I need it for work.

Currently I have a Nvidia GeForce 310m. I'm looking at a budget of about $70 max. I've been looking at some and pretty much anything looks like a substantial upgrade from what I have.

My question is, what can I use that will fit In Its place? If anybody has any suggestions.

Also, I'm running an old i5 2.4ghz processor. What could I upgrade to that's at least a 2.8ghz that will fit and won't break my wallet

>noob Android question
Explain to me simply but in full what exactly determines how fast an app loads up.
CPU+RAM in conjunction?
The more code in the executable, the more processes that need to happen?

For example, it sometimes takes my default keyboard up to two full seconds to appear when writing text.
I want it to open as close to instantaneously as possible - no loading.

I want to emulate Ps2 on my pc with as much performance as possible. Is it possible to run a Ps2 emulator as the user space on top of a Linux kernel? Rather than running a vm on my desktop? Or does the hardware require that it be emulated with a vm?

Also, how can i, on linux, optimize my system to the point where the only running background processes are the ones vital to running the emulator?

There is a native version of PCSX2, if that's what you mean.
Or do you mean that you only want the `emulator' itself and nothing attached to it?
