What the... I never realized these fuckers cost thousands of dollars!
Where can I find a descent oscillator for a fair price, tech-/g/ods?

Buy one used on eBay or craigslist. Or buy one of those Chinese 500-600 oscopes (they're pretty good)

Better yet, become a radio ham, have some old spare hardware & go to a swap meet.
Just trade old radio & PC hardware for a scope.

Nice, thanks for the tips!
In return, a large capacitor.

What's wrong, bored on the internet....again..?
Time to do something else.
This is now a tech pic thread.

>Oscillator != Oscilloscope
Could it be that OP is using the oscilloscope to illustrate the output of the oscillator?

OP, you can pick up old Tektronix 453s very cheaply. They were originally made to IBM's spec for work on the S/360 series of mainframes. Solid as a rock.

I've been on top of that thing; Sandia hosts family day once in a blue moon and I got to go on one occasion. It's cool look down into the oil. It's pretty deep. They've got a bunch of cool shit out there.

They seem to go for a few hundred bucks. Perfect!
Thanks dude.

Analog Scopes tend to go for cheap think 50-100 bucks. Just got to look around.

get a rigol ds1054z. 400 bucks new, all the upgrade options (including 100MHz bandwidth) are software-locked and can be unlocked by a keygen (lol)
