Guys, a little help here?
My T60 just died on me. Just starts up the fans and the HDD, then the capslock and other leds turn off and then... nothing. The screen doesn't light up or anything.

It beeps when I turn it off with the power button, and it beeps 1-3-3-1 when I remove the RAM.

What do?

getting an x61 soon...how is the screen for writing directly onto it...is it reliable enough to use for class notes?

Why have I lost ~2 hours of battery life from replacing my T430 disc drive with a HDD?

I changed power settings to turn off the hard disk after 1 minute when on battery, because it's mostly for music files and some other shit that I know I won't need to access. Even though it's completely powered off my max battery life is something like 5h30 mins where it used to be well over 7hrs.

SSD in the main bay is a 120gb 840 EVO, ultrabay HDD is a 320gb WD Black, standard (6 cell?) battery.

Any ideas? anything else I should play around with?

the size of my music folder is bigger than the capacity of the SSD I use. It was annoying having to transfer what ever I wanted to listen to at any given time from an external drive because I had maybe 15gb free space. All the shit is in FLAC so that's not exactly a lot.

Would it be foolish to buy a thinkpad for music production? I'd also be using it for programming, and thinkpads look like they have the most comfortable keyboards/touchpads. I had a T43 back in the day, but I dont know much about the newer ones

Search danet on ebay, they sell yagi antenna and repeaters on other antenna related equipment. I havent really found anything on the built in antennas, only on the yagi antennas. Might just buy them anyways since they are only $13

The wireless antennae are at the top in the plastic bezel due to the chassis being Mg alloy, along with the 3G/4G antenna being the thing which sticks out. I imagine in tablet mode, it's because they're covered. But why they didn't just do the little plastic RF windows like in the previous gen is beyond me.

I've done lcd replacements on laptops before, to increase the display resolution, it's just a matter of finding a panel that fits, has the right connections and if the gpu/mobo supports it... so yeah long answer is I'll have to do some research.

Yeah after some research I found that guy. Apparently he had to solder a custom connection from the mainboard and make a custom cable. He also had to mod the bios. So it's not a simple drop in process. But it can be done.
