Honestly it depends what you're lifting for.
Aesthetics: actual bodybuilding routines and GEAR. The average retard just messing around in the gym is doing halfassed bodybuilding routines from Men's Health without taking the gear that makes it work.
Strength: actually focus on the compound lifts, actually do all of them reliably, actually focus on putting weight on the bar. That should be the main thing you even do in the gym.
The main difference between normal retards and people who get somewhere is that the people who get somewhere know what they are even trying to do.
