Has anyone here been in psychological treatment and had success with it? I have a problem with my skin which led me to abandon any close social interaction after 19-20 y.o., because i am not comfortable beeing seen naked or even topless. So far i was ok with it, because i am comfortable being alone, but now in my late twenties i think that i wont go so smooth anymore in the future. The skin problem is not curable since its mostly about having scars (not from acne) and scars cant be healed back to normal skin. They are not aesthetic, "manly" scars, theyre just ugly.
However, it is not THAT bad and i think most of it is in my head. But i need help to get over it, i wont make it alone.
So is it worth going to a psychologist or are they just scammers?

Just try it but don't expect fast results. Therapy has helped me but it took months to get better and even after 2 years I'm still not the person I want to be. But without therapy I'd probably be miserable now
