Is reading basically cardio for the mind?
I can't read for hours and get mentally tired, even if reading genre fiction.

>start reading while doing cardio
>cardio becomes easier and reading comprehension goes up
OP if you aren't straining your brain while reading then you aren't reading a challenging enough book, just like lifting.

It's a trainable ability
When I was a kid, in the pre-smart phone days, I could happily read for hours, since moving towards spending all my time on my phone, I find it a genuine struggle to read words on paper for more than half an hour, despite being on a stem degree at a top uni.
I'm only now getting back into proper reading, I'm hoping that by training myself to read for long periods with books I like, I'll become able to read my course books more easily, as not doing that was the thing which sabotaged my degree the most last year
