So this fucking excercise fucked up my knee.
Everytime I do them I feel knee pain, but lunges and bb squats work fine. am I retarded or am I just not meant to do this excercise?

this and maybe your knee is bending slightly inward. Very common for this exercise. I had to correct that myself and the knee pain has gone away.

It puts a ton of strain on your quads and patella tendon, moreso than backsquats. Just keep doing lightweight to build tendon strength.
If you can't do that then do whatever the fuk this is called https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8OZ4bbtP9EE and reverse lunges with a safety squat bar
This is the best exercise for glutes and quads imo.

Lean a bit more forward and maybe wear a knee sleeve/bandage? Or you can do other single leg stuff like step ups.
