I'm confused.
I've been lifting for a month, took a week break because of a neck injury, and now I went back. My bench before the injury was 60kg, today I tried 62.5kg and failed ( only managed 3 rep sets ), so I searched if people usually fail at that weight when starting and...
I discovered that people get to 50kg benching after 3 fucking months of lifting? What the fuck? And I'm the dyel-est person I know.

Look up beginner strength standards for men instead of reading troll misinformation on forums

You never know anon, you could be the person that some years from now, under the right conditions, that could be benching 180-230kgs for singles or doubles. I myself was a fat fuck that couldn't do a single pushup even my life depended on it, in three months doing a peaking programming like SS/SL, yet with much more volume, my last 1RM bench was 90kg, honestly never felt more proud of myself. I'm steadily losing weight(from over 120kg to 100kg rn), I really don't care anymore for maxes anymore but I feel I still can progress more.

Took me slightly over 2 months after i started lifting to bench 70kg for 4x10 but after that i plateau hard, and took me 8 months to very slowly get to 84kg for 4x8, so i don't know.

50kg each side or total? I started lifting 3 weeks ago and i can bench 52kg total.

I remember when I was 16 and benched for the first time.
I set up a bench press I had lying around in the garage and put all the weight I had on. I then benched for 5 reps. This was my first bench and I lifted 60 kg without too much trouble.
Funny that my friends (who went to another gym) were all bragging about dead lifting 50kg and used chalk.
Pathetic manlets. I left the, behind pretty quickly lol.
Anyway, congrats on your progress. I'd be interested to know your OHP for a comparison. I was quickly doing 1pl8 at 16 within a week of overhead pressing. Never did squats or dead lifts though.

Protip: you never include the bar on totals weight, just the plate weight.

Wow now I feel a lot better about my lifts, thanks a lot <3

Count one side plus half the weight of the bar
>>42836401
You never count the bar

It wasn't exercise related. I woke up with my neck muscles fucked up. There's a name for it but I forgot it. It got better.
