Best way to train legs with minimal stress on the knees? I was thinking about cycling and maybe swimming.

I'm scared of getting my legs go backwards when i do that.
Neither gives you significant muscle mass, but both are easy on the knees. Supplement those with some lunges, stiff legged DLs and back extensions.

Cycling hurts my knees, long distance running really hurts my knees, squats hurt my wrists.
I run 20x40m sprints every other day, deadlifts on mondays, and walk a couple miles whenever I have down time. My legs are big, but they've been big since I was a babay, so I'm not sure if this is good advice.
