Hi /fit/

I'm going to get into gyming again - however, I have this problem with my shoulders. They're really tense, and they make a clicking or popping noise when I roll them. It's quite loud, people can seem to hear it 1-2m away from me if the room is quiet. I'm not sure what's making the sound.I do stretches to try and loosen it, and after a large stretch session I'll start getting these heart palpitations - I'm not quite sure they're related, but they have coincided numerous times now.

I've had this issue for over a few years but don't want to start doing some serious exercise and find that it causes a big problem. Swimming usually helps loosen them a bit, and they don't make the sound as much. But after a few days, it returns. Has anyone heard of something like this before? It's not painful, should I consult a doctor before doing anything serious at the gym? I've asked my Dad whether I should ask a doctor - but he said, no pain - no problem. He gave me a bit of shit for wanting to see a doctor proactively as it's not actually causing me any pain. What do you guys think?

Also, if you recommend seeing a doctor - is there a certain type of specialist I should see about this? I'm not sure a standard doctor would actually know what's going on but I'd like to know what you guys think and if you've heard of something similar to this.

I'm no expert so i would recommend talking to a doctor. but deadhangs and farmers walk are great for shoulder health

Bumping because I also have the shoulder issue

Potentially isolated rotator cuffs op. Work towards flexibility.
Definitely talk to a physio or doc before starting.

Exactly the same issue?

I'd guess the popping will go away if you start working out. I recommend press, it's a very good all around shoulder exercise. You can do it both with barbell and dumbells, barbell for higher weights and faster gains, and dumbbells for stability.

I'd guess that you get palpitations because of anxiety connected to the popping. I'd guess you're scared of it being something dangerous. I really can't see any other connection between shoulder popping and palpitations.

Don't be stupid nigga, you are fucking up your rotator cuff, made of 3 muscles. The clicking is the head of the homerus hitting the other bone. Harmless for now, it's literally grinding the joint to the bone. Some people are Just like that and Therefore they should avoid most pressing/do It under the eyes of a professional.

Probably it's just a imbalance in your muscles. Either go to an expert or try to think what you May have neglected: gymbros usually have zero rear delt and dominant front delt

Good luck brah, stay safe
