As a beginner, is 10 minutes of HIIT with a 5-minute warmup and cooldown enough? Or, should I do 20 minutes with warmup and cooldown?

Do NOT do HIIT.
You need a base level of aerobic conditioning before pushing yourself to your limits for intervals.
Do you want to have your heart just stop? That's what can happen if you ignore this advice.
