Monday/Thursday: Bench 5x5 / Incline DB press 5x10 / DB rows 3 x 15
Tuesday/Friday: Squat 5x5 / Diddles 5x5 / Curls 3x15

appropriate rep and set ranges have been figured out by science. un-"modify" this and stick to what you were told to do by the program. your parents regurgitate what they were taught, they do not learn and optimize it.

You wont be able to maintain 5x5 deadlifts on linear progression for very long. Be prepared to drop a couple sets of it in favor of continuing to progress the weight.
Aside from that its a fair program for an absolute beginner. More volume than is typical, but you'll probably adapt to it pretty quickly. 3x fullbody and U/L splits are always good
