I'm looking to increase upper body muscle size, specifically chest/upper arms (my abs are actually not too bad), I've put together a VERY basic workout (it's literally all pushups), but I have no clue if it will work.

- Medium Grip Pushups - 3 Sets

- Wide Grip Pushups - 3 Sets

- Close Grip Pushups - 3 Sets

Then repeat this with my legs up on something. 20 second rests between sets. I plan to start with 5 pushups per set, and increase from there, as i'm told that you should go slow and do low reps for building up muscle. Maybe do this onece/twice a day? Not sure what to do about warm ups.

I'm doing this all at home with no equipment btw. Any advice is appreciated.

That will get you through a few weeks. Obviously it is better than doing nothing, but if you were able to get into a gym or even get your hands on some dumbbells you could make very good progress in your first few months, especially if your diet is even remotely decent. The pushups will give you some shoulder, chest and tricep development but only to an extent, at some point you will have to add resistance.

Yeah, I was planning to get some dumbbells in the long run, as well as one of those pull up bars you can stick in a door frame.

Do you think I would need to do any kind of warm up for this?
