What's the scoop on training with keto? Either cardio or weights. Pic unrelated.
Hypertrophy training at 60% intensity, 5-6d/wk.
150g+ protein (>>42662501)

Idk about the scientific literature. What I do know is for 6 weeks I ate keto at maintenance, confirmed ketosis through testing strips, lost a fair amount of bodyfat but in the process lost 30 pounds off my bench. Not worth it.

I see you, too, browse /wg/ and /fit/. Well done lad
i've heard that because keto basically depletes your glycogen stores in your muscles you tend to lose your explosiveness when it comes to your lifts. you could make gains but don't expect them to be the best.

Acute muscle protein synthesis elevation is irrelevant in the long term.
What matters is overall work done.
Muscles don't just grow from muscle protein synthesis elevation, and actually most of the gains people get come from lowering of the muscle protein breakdown.

This study is absolutely retarded and shouldn't be cited, ever.
Basically the gymnasts were put into a "ketogenic" diet that was HIGH protein(over 200g of protein" and low-moderate fat (less than 130g, what the fuck is this even a keto diet)for a few weeks, then a few months after that they were put in a western diet which had LESS THAN HALF the protein the "ketogenic" diet had, and basically the same fat, but over 10x the carbs of the ketogenic diet.
The gymnasts' ketone levels weren't even tested, they didn't even know if they were actually on ketosis due to all the protein they were eating.
If calories and protein WERE ACTUALLY CONTROLLER, the ketogenic diet would grant INFERIOR RESULTS.

They're measuring a single 6h session for prediction of hypertrophy.

It's *still* good for citing muscle neutrality / gain on a deficit.
Yet the point about protein control is conjecture. 200g of protein is pretty average for this 22 carb diet, as they're going through 1168 calories total to be on protein (yet using it all as well, per the fat statistics.. thus achieving ketosis at minimum, potentially depending on when and how much is eaten).

High volume isolations(I lump in bodyweight shit with isolations) mixed with high intensity compounds, skip breakfast and train at around 1pm, bcaa/caffeine mix during, eat huge meals until ~8pm make sure the last meal before bed is high in fat to hold you over for the morning.
Trust me It's lit

this, you wont gain mass but you can retain most strength gains ,gotta watch out forthe catabolization bro
