So I just heard that the quads ripping off from your bones during a squat can be a "thing".
I want to talk about this...

I had a grade 1 rectis femoris tear that lead to a grade 2 tear from simply "squatting" my own body weight before it was completely healed. It felt like a rip and getting stabbed with a hot iron poker. Needless to say it was moderately painful. It took a long time to fully recover, but I have not had any problems since then (this type of injury has a very high re-injury rate).
Severe tears are a risk anyone and everyone who power lifts face. The human body is not designed to lift these massive amounts of weight, and through nutrition, supplements, drugs, aggressive training, etc... you can build muscle strength to the point that the muscles are stronger than the other connective tissues... not to mention the wear and tear put on your joints. There are also various connective tissue disorders that can make you more susceptible to these types of injuries.
This is just another reason why power lifting, professional body building and other "strong man" types activities are pretty fucking stupid in the grand scheme of life. There's nothing manly being laid up in a hospital bed, or dying at the ripe age of 47 because you blew out your heart. To each their own...
This is what happens when you overload what your body can handle with a squat suit, knee wraps, and a monolift. Never seen anything this retarded happen in raw.
heavy squatting not even once. I'm fine with my 350 thank you
this is why i hate retards who use wraps and squat singlets, it makes them think theyre stronger than they are
