Anyone have any tips for road marches?
I'm gonna go for a 10 mile road march carrying 30 pounds on Tuesday. The last march I did was 7.5 mile and I felt like dying at the 6 mile mark.
For my graduation I'll have to do 15 mile. I have no idea how I'm gonna complete that.

You are first categorized into different categories. Cat A and B are deemed combat fit and will be posted to combat vocations. The other cats will most probably be doing office jobs.
The first 3 months for cat A and B will be Basic Military Training (BMT), where I am now.
10% of us will get to be officers, where there will be another 9 months of training before commission,
30% will become sergeants, where there will be 6 months of training before passing out.
We will all be posted to our units eventually.
Not sure about those that are not combat fit.

Forgot to add:
every year you'll have to serve 1/2 weeks after the first 18 months. For officers it's 15 years
Ex british army infantry here.
Just keep beasting yourself up hills with weight. The way PTI's built us up was by increasing the pace and sending us round hills repeatedly bringing us to complete exhaustion. Ive been out a few years and yesterday i did 8 miles with 50 pounds through mountains mostly uphill on 30 degree gradients. You need to condition yourself by pushing past what you think are your limits.
Train hard, fight easy as they say.
