If you're not a powerlifter is there any reason to perform a traditional barbell back squat when box squats are easier on the low back, easier to maintain correct form and thus better for people with bad knees, can usually lift heavier with it and thus get stronger faster and develops force and power better than back squat? As I see it there's absolutely no reason to back squat unless you're competing.

if you're not a powerlifter there's no reason to ever squat, it fucks up your knees and tires you out. AT MOST you should do leg press and calf raises and something for glutes.

You don't even have to fall for the leg-training meme at all, you can just work upper body and occasionally jog or cycle.

How about you go back there with your awful advice. Box squats do the opposite of encourage good form because you lose tension at the bottom of the lift.

Squats actually don't do much for glutes. If you want a fat ass eat more, do deep weighted lunges, deadlift, hip thrust. Squats are at the bottom of the food chain for glutes and posterior chain work unless you do squat mornings.

Taking out the stretch reflex makes the muscles work harder thus you get more out of it. Box squats are objectively superior in every way outside of powerlifting.

I'm confused why you would doubt that I box squat to parallel? I do. I use my flat bench for it and I squat with a relatively narrow stance to increase the ROM. I am tall and have long legs making the bench the perfect height for me for a to parallel box squat. The box squat and back squat are directly comparable and have been in several studies.
