Both put you in a 500kcal deficit, not counting the kcals burned from lifting weights

Or 2250kcals and 250kcals of cardio. This is more manageable IMO, it's what I've done and had good success.

I don't do cardio on lift days, though. My cardio is usually HIIT beating up a heavy bag, and exhausts my arms & shoulders too much to have an effective lift session after.

Effective cardio is good for cardiovascular health and ups your insulin sensitivity, which is what you are looking for. There are other important metabolic effects of cardio that help with getting shredded too. I usually do running in the morning and mix in some HIIT sprints every other day. or two. So yeah, 2500 kcals and cardio all the way, brah.
We are ALL going to make it

Why do not cardio afterward?
>>
500 kcals of cardio is not easy. Doing so every day is unsustainable for a beginner, especially on top of weightlifting

Low intensity cardio doesnt affect you that much when it comes to recovery. You can do it every day and it will not affect your lifting. HIIT does affect your recovery tho, because of its usage of anaerobic glycosis as the main source of energy, so you cant do it every day that easily

This seems true. I do about 30 minutes of cardio everyday.
