Anyone with a bit of health and diet knowledge wanna weigh in on this?
>eat 2 tins of sardines daily
>gr8 for protein, vitamin D, vitamin E and omega 3s
>eventually start getting some kind of allergic reaction everytime i put tinned sardnes in my mouth causing hives in my gums and cheeks
ok i'll stop eating sardines from a tin
>test mackarel from a tin
>no reaction
>Start eating 2 tins of mackarel daily
>eventually start getting a similar but different allergic reaction
>similar swelling feeling albeit in the throat which makes it even more uncomfortable
I read it might be the histamine in the tinned fish, but taking anti-histamines doesn't really seem to be a way of beating it.
So basically I need to source another fish (or way of eating sardines/mackarel).
Catfishes, Tilapia and Basa seem pretty cheap and don't taste particularly offensive but to my understnading they're no where near as based as sardines, herrings and mackarels. also i'm a bit worried that they are imported from places like china/vietnam and are basically sewer fish
frozen cod and pollock are also fairly cheap. i presume they're half-way decent healthwise.
as are fresh mackarels and sardines (not sure if i would eventually start getting the reaction from these too though) and some other fresh fish like plaice - but obviously these require some preparation - which frozen and canned fish don't.
a last alternative is to eat smoked herrings and/or mackarel - these are fairly cheap - can taste ok - but i'm worried that eating smoked food regualrly might not work and i might continue to get the reaction under these.
any ideas?
I'm not much of a fish guy but I do like salmon and cod. Give either of those a try

maybe you shouldn't eat just one type of fish constantly till your body rejects it, mix them, eat like 3 or 4 types of fish on different days.

salmon is pretty expensive.
I'm eating lots and lots of cod
seems to be the easiest way out of this pickle.

why should my body reject it?
my body doesn't reject rice or oats or milk or chicken or vegetables?
i think its to do with some sort of histamine build up - but that is my amateurish reading into it.
I eat Wild Red Pacific Sockeye Salmon from a can almost everyday. Good profile, not as good as sardines, but fairly close.
