Anyone ever dealt with sciatica? Injured my back on a final squat rep 5 weeks ago and now stabbing pain down one leg. Hoping it's just acute, had a few physio sessions and things are seemingly getting better. Did you lift? Watching my gains melt away and would like to hear success stories
we got another one boys

i have suffered with sciatica before anon. Although mine was cause from a few bulging disks that occurred from a tractor accident, but to this day i haven't experienced a worse pain in my life then when the sciatica really flares up. The only advice I can give you is to just start stretching as often as you can and don't start lifting weights until you feel comfortable enough moving again. It took me about 6 months of stretching 5 times a week, sleeping on the floor, and a lot of pain killers to finally start to enjoy life a bit more. Its been over 4 years now and the feeling never truly went away for me. I can squat, deadlift, ohp, clean and jerk just fine but the moment i try to push myself i get a numbing sensation down my left leg for a few days after the exertion. All i can say is hope you recover, because my experience was so terrible that i will never want to wish it onto others.

Not sciatica, but I have had nerve problems in my arm /neck that is the equivalent. Went to several doctors. What ended up helping was an Rx called Gabapentin. Cancels out nerve pain. Not narcotic but it does have slight recreational use to make you more extroverted.
