Is bulking/cutting a meme? I know it's gay but I'm terrified of putting on too much fat. I tried leanbulking but it got me no where.

Im 183cm, 68kg btw

If lean bulking didn't get you anywhere you didn't eat enough.

Leanbulking is pointless, it's too slow. Just bulk and cut. Don't bulk over 15% bf and you won't be fat.

How do I accurately measure bf%? Fitbit scale seems to be all over the place.
>>42570532
At this stage I'm convinced lean bulking is the meme.
>>42570671
Take multiple measurements and average them out. There's no (easily accessible) way to accurately measure BF%.

>Is bulking/cutting a meme?
It works, but it's not optimal. It's alot easier to gain muscle and strength when you're healthy and lean. I don't care what these schmucks say.
>I tried leanbulking but it got me no where.
Did you track your macros daily? Were you resting adequately? Maybe too much volume?

I guess thats the way to go.

I did track everything I ate and all of my workouts. The only time I gained weight was when I completely ignored macros and just ate whatever I felt like. I have a pretty demanding job so I tried leanbulking on around 3200kcal and actually lost on some weeks. I bumped my intake up to 3400 in the end, still nothing.

I feel you. I quit working in factories for that reason. It can get pretty disappointing when you feel that you're just spinning your wheels. Use your performance in the gym as feed back. Test your grip strength.(A good indication of how your nervous system is doing) and go from there. Focus on getting stronger and simplify things a bit. It sounds counter intuitive to do less, but some of us grow better that way. As long as you're getting stronger the weights you push in that hypertrophy rep range will be higher, thus recruiting more fibers. Maybe do re-feed days that are strategically planned. Like I said before. Bulking and cutting does work, it's just not optimal. You'll make it, anon. Lol, I don't know why the Fit snacks came up on my name, but I'll keep it for this thread.

It really gets frustrating, tracking everything you eat, all those macros and busting your ass in the gym. But I could never carelessly bulk above a certain fat threshhold. It doesnt help that I am a recovering anorexic (I know, I know) shit gets tough sometimes, ya know.

>tracking
It's for learning portion sizes / calories.

Yes, it's a meme.

and, you're a skelly DYEL severely underestimating his TDEE.
All your concerns over bf% ( >>42570671 ) are therefore moot.
You need to eat only slightly over your TDEE. "Bulking" is for children who're just hitting puberty(you know, the people this thing was designed for), gear heads, pregnant women, and hungry skellingtons who're completely retarded about diet.
