Can pushups on a deficit make you stronger?
I'm on a slight deficit because I'm lean and cutting off a few more lbs before I bulk.
I've just been doing pushups every day just cause. But When I started I could barely do 50. Then I easily started doing 100 per day easily. This week I can do 150 per day
Is this me getting stronger or my body just acclimating to the motions? Can pushups add strength on a deficit?

Hijacking thread:
Are pushups closer to bench (horizontal pressing) or OHP (free scapula pressing)?

well gee bill, bench of course. The higher elevation of your legs is what makes them closer to ohp, so if you want to switch between muscle groups just put your feet up on a stool or a bench, or even learn handstand push ups, which are quite basically as close as ohp as you can get without a bar.

But benching is done with steady scapulae, pushups are done with free scapulae. Like OHP.
