if you live in a hot area, the fitbit will begin melting. standard summer where i live is 98˚F to 108˚F during the day. only time outside was just walking to class at university which was about 5 or 10 minutes. despite that, it gave me a good idea about tracking calories but you dont need one for that, just use a calorie tracking app. i hear their estimation of how much calories you burn is pretty far off.

Had a Fitbit charge HR for two years, never had an issue in Phoenix heat. Never heard of that happening to one before. True that the calorie burn seems to be way off
