It's because you lack chest, work on it

vacuum stronk enough to pull ribs back in?

Sunken chest, I have the opposite because my spine is fucked up so I have a barrel chest and it stretches out my abs

Post example? If you have the opposite of a sunken chest doesn't that mean your chest sticks out further than your stomach which is a good thing?

I think that looks pretty nice anon. Daniel Craig had this look in casino royals.

It's fine with clothes off but I look like a strong guy with a beer belly when I have a shirt on. I spend ages dieting and getting lean just to still look the same as someone with 20+% bodyfat. In a t shirt my arms/face are the only giveaway that I'm not a fatty

Are you me?
I have the same thing. My upper abs are rock hard and stick out.
Not sure if visceral fat is the problem or if that's just the way I'm built.

I understand that you want to change it but what did you do that resulted in this look? I'd like to achieve it.

I suspect its posture related, I've sat at a desk/in a chair for pretty much all of my 22 years of life. That can't really be replicated though so I guess you could probably get yourself a beer belly. The lean/muscular part is just lifting weights most days of the week and eating a clean diet. The only thing between you and your goal body is time spent doing it. Everyone out there is lifting most of the week and eating right, they've just been doing it for longer than most people here.

It's hard to tell but basically my abs look shittier when I try to straighten my back because they can't contract as much

Compared to how it looks when I relax my posture more
