Would maxing out on pushups & squats weekly be enough for a minimalist workout, if I just want to look slightly above an average joe?

I've just been doing Calisthenics whenever I can fit them in at work. Sit-ups, elevated push ups, burpees, plank, pull ups, etc. Along with eating better portions, I've been seeing SOMETHING, just exercise more, eat less. Try. You'll see something if you're not already too fat

you would at least need a pull up bar
push ups and bodyweight squats are not a good exercise because after some time they're too easy
check out reddits bodyweightfitness recommended routine. had a friend follow it for a year straight and has a nice body. he spends like an hour and 45 every day and made some nice gains

Throw in some pull ups, you can get pretty far with those three.
Some running couldn't hurt, either.
