My legs are getting too big for my liking but I want my squat to go even higher
Would lowering the reps from 5 to 3 help at all, in terms of building same strength but not size

Do parallel squats. Going below parallel gives better hypertrophy but only going to parallel gives better strength gains. Weird right?

Eat to maintain a specific weight. Your legs will only grow fast if you're in a surplus
you can never have legs "too big"
your legs will reach a growth limit at some point (assuming you're even close to that) but yeah current literature suggests 3x5 probably lower end hypertrophic and more strength related not that you can really seperate the two

If you squat twice a week then lower the number of sets. If you currently do 5x5, do 3x5 so it's 6 sets/week instead of 10. At 2.5pl8s then your legs SERIOUSLY aren't big unless all your other lifts are disproportionately low or something.

If you only do squatting and no hypertrophy at all then it'll give a pretty good estimate I think. Of course it varies but you won't have huge legs with 2.5pl8 squat only
