It's one of the more protein sparing weight loss diets you can. The high fat content is very satiating helps keep people from fucking up and eating more. Surprisingly, it tends to improve biomarkers for cardiovascular disease (blood pressure, fasting glucose, insulin sensitivity, blood lipids), as much or more than other diet methods.
Most people would do fine with a significant deficit CICO diet, but keto is a bit more optimal if you're morbidly fucking obese, like Boogie-sized, and want to melt fat off like it's nothing.
You dont lose any more weight but its better at retaining muscle
