Which is best to lose fat and keep muscle? Can't get a clear

Which is best to lose fat and keep muscle? Can't get a clear answer but these are 4 I have seen mentioned but I also seen them as not recommended. I would prefer to do HIIT cardio in the afternoon on a day when I don't lift.

Low intensity cardio before breakfast
Low intensity cardio after weight lifting (protein drink before doing it?)
HIIT cardio after weight lifting (protein drink before doing it?)
HIIT cardio in the afternoon on a day where you don't lift

or is there a better alternative?
