Has anyone tried listening to audio lessons to learn a new language while lifting instead of just music?
Yes.
You probably wont be able to concentrate well on any advanced or new stuff but for casual listening or revising stuff you already kind of know: it works
Or just combine listening to music and learning the language by listening to songs with lyrics in that language

unless you can hold a deep and complex conversation in your native language while lifting, don't even try. you'll just concentrate poorly on both things, fuck up your form and not learn shit.
what does work though is revising and practicing stuff you already know while doing things that are completely mindless and don't require any focus. do your practice while you go out for a run or whatever you do for cardio.
tl;dr focus for lifts and learning, multitask for cardio and practice
