Is it a good idea to do dry land exercises as well as swimming? The past 6 months all I've done is swim and I'm in pretty decent shape now but I'm worried that if I carry on just swimming I'll get muscle imbalances in some way. Anyone got any experience with this?
One of my best friends was a swimmer on his schools team for like 5 years, and he ended up with broad shoulders, but absolute baby legs and glutes. He never touched a gym while swimming. Not that he wasn't healthy, just had big muscle imbalance (and not the kind where he had big muscles, just underdeveloped areas compared to what he trained for many years). So from my PERSONAL experience, I'd say go to the gym as well.

Post pics, I'm curious what 6mo of nothing but swimming looks like.
Also yes lift weights.
