I've been doing the exercise in the pic for a while,but lately I ran into a problem: I reached a weight that gives me problems in the first rep: it's really hard to lift up the barbell the first time. Is there anything I can do other than asking for help from someone else every time?
I'd say just don't do the exercise. There are easier alternatives that 1) work the same muscles and 2) require less equipment.

I ain't no expert, but i feel like this works the same muscles as doing curls standing up, but with more weight. I also feel like my biceps are under much more stress doing it this way

Not OP but biceps curls really hurt my back for some reason. And you don't put enough focus on the biceps, which is kind if the point of the excercise.
