How do I stop wanting to die when I'm not at the gym?
Being in the gym is the only place where I lose myself in my head and enter my own world. I feel confident and happy. But when I leave it's like I'm thrust back into the same world of loneliness and isolation as before I started getting /fit/. I thought lifting was supposed to make me happier.

figure out what you're interested and make an effort to engage in pursuits that align with those interests. What you end up doing will make you feel happier and trying in itself will make you happier.

Get more into atheltics that your gym routine will complement.
Join some sort of martial art. Your gym time will make you naturally better at it and doing martial arts will probably take you out of the isolation/misery

I feel the same being out for vacay for a few more weeks. FF12 helps kill time until the next gym sesh
