If rack pulls above the knee are good because of the isometric stretch on the traps why don't you just do actual isometrics instead?

I would imagine it's because you can do a rack pull above the knee that's heavier than your deadlift, whereas the isometric deadlift will only ever be as heavy as your max deadlift

You can only ever do a rack pull with as much as can fit on the bar, leading to goofy crap like this
you can put as much effort into an isometric as your body possibly can
