Is it best to do 3 sets of the same lift one after another or rotate from lift to lift eventually getting to 3 of each?

the latter would give you more time to recover i.e. you could put more effort into the sets, which would be good.

the first would make you more fatigued which i believe can support muscle tearing thus better gains.

I have always done a rotation. Just wondering what is best for gains.

Whichever you want. According to Arnie, the goal is to fatigue as many muscle fibers as possible. So as long as you do that, you are golden.

pragmatically speaking, i think it's better to do the former because you'll be able to reserve your equipment better
