What's the best way of loosing weight fairly quick without causing any 'damage'
I'm starting uni in September and could with burning a few pounds, just puppy fat really.
Any decent exercise routines I could do that would get me a decent result in the time frame? Any dietary advice would be helpful

Eat under your TDEE but don't go below 1200cal
If your only goal is losing weight, any exercise is fine. Diet is more important. If you want to actually look good, which it sounds like you don't, start lifting.
