Roughly. I weigh in after working out, which is usually around 7pm. In the weekends it's a bit earlier, though, like 3 or 4pm.

I also hit the sauna before it, so I assume I'm a bit lower in water content than would be normal, but again that should be fairly consistent between days (I'd think).

I ended up only losing 5 pounds in July. My monthly goal is 8+ pounds.

It does come and go, which is the reason people advise you to not put too much stock into a single weigh in. Heavy exercise and diuretics tend to deplete it, high sodium intake, women's' menstrual cycles, and certain foods make you retain more of it than normal. Water is the biggest component of "fake" weight fluctuation along with things like hair, food/poop, and your clothing that mess with the number you see on the scale.

Today was a good day
I recently passed the 100lbs lost mark and decided to go into my closet and find clothes that I had shoved to the back that were too small
found a pair of size 44 pants I hadn't worn in years(used to be a size 52) and they fit me nicely
also found a bunch of 2X shirts to replace my 3X that have gotten too big for me
I'm glad i decided to just be lazy and shove shit in my closet rather than throwing them away

anyone else have any similar stories?

I'm new to this board. I'm tired of being a fat fuck. I used to be really skinny when I was a kid, used to exercise 3 hours a day.. but then I broke my ankle, learned what Nintendo was and started gaining weight.. that was about 13 years ago.. and I don't want to be this fat fuck anymore.

I put my weight in MFP but I prefer to see overall trends rather than day to day or week to week trends

Exercise is like 10-20% of weight loss. You are fat because you eat unhealthy shit.

Do some research into healthy foods you like and you'll be better off in the long run.

Pic related is the best tip I can give you overall, but I'll post some other stuff I came up with or found along the way that helped me.

oats for breakfast. Then these for lunch and dinner. An hour cooking and 14 bucks for 3 days of gains and good food. It's pretty useful if you do it right. My problem is that if I cook "one" meal, it ends up being 1.5-2 meals. So I over eat it and then don't have enough left over for a full meal the next time to eat. Meal prep forces me to stick to the less than 1k cals per meal.

A lot of what goes on in these threads is an issue with self control not being strong enough to overcome physical and mental difficulties. I said it before but meditating helps so much with focus, attention, and dissasociating yourself from your thoughts. If you can't sit down for five minutes of your day and meditate there is something horribly wrong and a whole series of self defense mechanisms rear their heads that you need to deal with. When you meditate you simply focus on your breath for a set amount of time. It takes no money and all you need is a timer. Which you have because you are on an electronic device. When you focus on your breath thoughts will come into your mind and distract you. The most important part is to eventually realize you aren't focusing on your breath and return to it. This happens over and over and over again. This act of realization and the shift in your mind to go back to breathing is what strengthens your mind for more difficult tasks. Like when your stomach growled just now because it's hungry but you ate your caloric amount for the day. Or when you get really upset at something or someone. Any of these outside or internal stimuli need your attention for them to be acted upon. But you will start training yourself to not act so brashly. To think for a second and disconnect yourself from the moment you are currently in. Hey I don't need to eat. Hey I don't need to be upset. These things do not help me. And you move on. You do not need motivation to do something. You need to set habits that are easier than the alternative bad one. For example, say you need to study or go work out but you just want to be a lazy piece of shit. Well do something much easier first. Go wash the dishes or pick up your room. Then move onto something else. Take a shower, do some studying. Then move to the hardest things now that you have momentum. Or say to get rid of a soda habit, replace your sodas with topo Chico or some other sparkling water.

Building muscle helps burn fat. You have a lot of extra fat, you won't build anywhere near the amount of muscle compared to the amount of extra fat you have.

I know seeing the number on the scale go down feels good, but it isn't actually the most important part. Lift. You want to look good when that fat is gone.

It's the same fizz. It's the same can. It's the same habit in everything but the calories, fake sugars, and the sugary taste. Some waters even have a splash of a flavor. Oh the caffeine is lacking? Switch to black coffee? Black coffee isn't your thing yet? Add some milk to it and slowly reduce the amount. Is it too hot? Add some tap water to it and cool it down. Do what makes the good habit easier than the bad one. Is your lifting program difficult or too long and that's a turn off? Find a shorter one. Don't like running fast? Go for an hour walk. Hate wasting time walking? Do HIIT. Find out what makes it easier for you. Eventually these habits become so ingrained it's hard to ever look back or do an old one. If you need motivating then you need goals. Goals help you instantly visualize motivation. Every action you do either is a step forward or step back from that goal. You want to lift heavier? Then go fucking do it, time is ticking. You want to lose weight? Then cut out that bad shit, because every calorie over your tdee is a step backwards. You can look up motivating speeches online and they can sometimes help spark that. But just like convincing someone to get treatment or even this situation that I'm typing right now. It's your choice. I can only do so much to help you. I can only lead you to water. I can't make you drink. I can't be there for you to help when you're sad or lack motivation. I can tell you we all believe in you bro, but that only gets so far. Will you remember the anon that type tldr at you six months from now? I doubt it. But I hope you let what I say have time to digest. You need to be better. And that is only your choice alone. No one else can make these choices on your life journey.

After my "honeymoon period" of about a month stopped, where the pounds just kept dropping, i noticed it: i would lose 2 pounds over one or two days, gain it back over roughly double that time then make another big drop after that. I wrote about fat and fit yesterday in a journal. I've been having mental blocks and couldnt understand why I wanted to be fit when there is nothing in my personality that would seem to explain it, as it would give me no advantage for reasons. I think its a conflict in low self image vs normal desire for self worth. Hope it helps anyone.

I definitely have a food addiction, often late night fast food binges were my crutch. I rarely ate at home, just ate nothing all day then binged at night. The last three weeks I've been eating much better but the urges are still here. The problem is the mental stress. I have Mt. Everest to free climb in front of me if I want to get to an acceptable weight. Coupled with depression the urge to give up brings me down, daily. This is how it's been for years, I start, I lose some weight, but shit happens and I fall back into bad habits. I don't know how to break it.

I used to do the same shit. I just got really tired of constantly falling back into to the cycle and told myself I wouldn't allow it anymore. My local shop have these small yogurt-containers with a small addition of musli/jam/nuts depending on the type for $1 a piece. It's at most 25 g sugar in one if all of it was yoghurt. It got a total of about 280 cals in one.

I don't think I've eaten a whole lot today, but it adds up.
Realistically:
>60g(ish) oats with 1 banana, 2 dl kefir
>Two crackerbreads or what it's called, with some butter, ham and cheese
>2 of those yoghurts
>One salad mix (~450 kcal)

I'll guess I'll have a glass of water..
