Hey bros, I'm about to start my first ever cut. After being on permabulk my whole life, I finally escaped Auschwitz mode and am now sitting at okay-ish 225 for my 6'8 height. Not ideal but at least people don't make fun of me anymore.
Anyway, the side effect of this is that I developed a bit of a double chin and a belly (thanks genetics). So I'm about to start keto, add more cardio to lifting, and eat 500 cals under maintenance.
My questions:
How do I figure out my daily maintenance? Online calculators suggest it's around 3000 which sounds like bullshit since I remember I had to eat like 4500-5000 cals per day to gain any weight.
And also, your general tips for keto and how not to hate life while on it

give 3000 cals a shot then weigh yourself a couple times a day and log it for a week, thats the only way to find your true tdee

I know what you mean. I hate to do this, but I'm really starting to look old. Double chin + belly + receding hairline is a bitch. I can't do much about hair, but at least I wanna try to control the first two.
