What is your opinion on the slingshot? I tried it for the first time today, and it felt really nice. I was having a pretty shitty workout, and with it I could do five paused reps with weight I could've done maybe two or at most three regular reps with. Should I start using it in my routine every now and then?
Are there any downsides to using it? Will it hinder the development of my strength off the chest?
just seems like cheating to me. it's like bouncing the bar off your chest.

This was what I was thinking, as well. The slingshot doesn't really help with the lockout, so I figured it might be good for strengthening and growing the triceps.

It's saved my poverty bench. I'm running a modified 5/3/1 and program 3 sets of the same rep range I've done my worksets at and just start chuckin weight on. It's a great way to overload and an even better way to build confidence and ambition.
