I'm currently on keto and trying to cut out the layer of fat around my stomach while still trying to gain or at least maintain muscle. If I suck in even the slightest I have a very hourglass shape.

Yes, I realize I have literally 0 upper body. I used to work out, but over the summer I got a job that requires a manual labor job and often leaves my muscles tired/sore.

Is keto a bad idea for me?
Also, as you can see I have a scar from appendicitis. Do you think that's an additional factor of my stomach being a bit extra flabby?

I cut back on exercising and rarely did my morning exercises.
Also stopped dieting and would eat breakfast instead of IF.
Thought that doing maintenance work and only workout once or twice a week while being more active during the summer would be good enough.
It was and wasn't.

Going to look into DNP when winter starts. I think it's time for something a bit drastic. Accidentally cooking myself from the inside out is a risk I'm willing to take at this point.

I posted this in /fat/ the other day, but fuck it I'll post again. I'm 6'1" and 22yo, current goal is to get to 180 or maybe a little lower depending on how much fat I have left by the time I get there. I was lifting for about two weeks in June but then stopped because I hated the gym. Started going again doing Phrak's GSLP and I'm enjoying it a little more. I'm mostly focused on just dropping all this fat right now, but I'm trying to learn about lifts and get used to proper form and such so I can transition into building muscle eventually. Also just trying to develop a strength base because to be completely honest I'm weak as fuck.

abs on leg day.
20 min walk every morning, and on off day i do 20 min HIIT on a bike.
I'm only 5'6
I used to lift before i did this transformation, and i think that gave me a bit of an edge when cutting down in fat cause I could afford to lose a bit of muscle.
Biggest factor is the diet tho, I went clean eating about 1700-1900 kcal, varying, if i had an intense workout and was active that day I might go a bit highger. If i didnt do anything one day I went about 200 lower.
Its about learning your body through the process, see what calorie intake your body needs when not doing a lot of activity and what it needs during a very active day.
I had one cheat meal every 4th week on saturdays, but still counted the calories so i hit my goal intake.

I'm doing Ice Cream Fitness 3x5, Eat around 1700 calories a day with <100 carbs and >200 protein. I weigh 149lbs (funny thing is, despite cutting I was 147 a week before which kind of demotivated me desu) and I'm a 5'8 tall manlet.

Will I make it? Any recommendations?

My advice would be don't worry so much about cutting or bulking right now. Stay around maintenance for a bit and see how you feel regarding progress in a month. Just eat right, sleep and lift and I'm sure you'll make steady gains

I just lifted 6 times a week on a beginner PPl routine, got around 8-9 hours sleep and ate around maintenance. It can be quite tough, some days I felt weak but I always made sure to increase weight or reps so I was constantly improving, I think that's key to why a lot of beginners don't get anywhere, they don't push hard enough to progress and think it'll come easy.

I managed to put on 12lb and I look leaner but bigger and stronger n I was skinny fat

Intervals are just going hard for a while then stepping back for a while and doing that for a bit.

HIIT is going so hard that you're close to paassing out for 30-20seconds then resting for a bit then doing it again.

Only people who are already fairly fit and healthy can do HIIT correctly and most importantly safely.

2 months, 12+kg. Today I went below 70kg for the first time, I'm aiming for 65 to see if that'll remove the rest of the belly and if not then down to 60. Once I manage to get my BF down I can finally start putting on some decent muscle and making progress with weights.

Thanks man, this was at 213lbs and I'm 5'11. Just looked at progress and I'm 202 now so might be time for another, can never see progress without pics. Consistently losing 2-3lbs a week, trying to concentrate on getting my lifts up at the moment.

Thanks anon. My hip is better now. Was the SI joint. Popped out and was out for a good few weeks before it was fixed.

What killed me the most was I was in such a good routine and hitting the gym 5 days a week for 3-4 months and I got sidelined.
