What's the difference between a chin up and a pull up. Is it bad that I can only do 4

Pull up = pronated grip
Chin up = supinated grip
I couldn't do a single chin up until a few months ago, now I do them weighted at 35lbs (still have a lot of work to do). Keep going.

Yes. Very bad. Actually there are some scientific studies that demonstrate that if you didn't have the strength and capacity necessary to do 6+ pull ups before you started lifting, then it means that your genetic potential is very very low and will probable not gain much muscle mass. Correlated with low T too.

Which one is better for back? I can do more chin ups and like them better tbqh but I've been doing pull ups
>>42361876
Gotta start somewhere. Once you can do 5-8, try adding some weight to it.

Pull ups, but chin ups will work your back anyway.

90% of people cannot do one pullup
just practice I went from 2 pullups/chin to around 14 max in a week ish. Took a few months to get to 2 pullups though. now doing weighed with 45lbs
