Fuck one rep maxes. They're fucking bullshit. Athletes frequently have to show strength multiple times instead of once with a spotter and protective gear as their crutches. Because we allow one rep maxes, powerlifters are a bunch of morbidly obese fat asses who pass out walking over to the bench.
if we replaced the one rep max with a 5 rep max instead, you would have much better athletes in power lifting comps.
