only thing a deadlift is missing vs. a squat (as far as lower body is concerned) is knee extension through the same range of motion as a squat, which leg press, hack squat, or a hip belt squat will cover for

this doesn't mean your squat won't be down a lot when you get back, but that has more to do with specificity

I have bad flexibility in my hips which I'm working on.

Because of this bad flexibility I used to do really wide squats which eventually made my right side of my left knee hurt.

I can deadlift and leg press narrow but can't yet on the squat so it hurts my knee really badly.

I probably could've avoided this whole problem if I didn't rush through flexibility/technique training when doing the squat.

I currently do deadlifts during one day of the week and leg press during another. Do you think I should do legs extensions or is that uneccessary?
