I'm going to start swimming at the Y - anything I should know? Things like

-staying motivated
-decent wp watch
-diet
-duration/intensity
-prefered stroke(s)

I guess there isn't a whole lot to it, /swimming/ general I suppose as well

ya eat a shit ton of food. Warm up with a nice slow 100m free/100m backstroke. Work fast 50ms with 20-30s rest for 10 sets or something, once or twice a week. Do distance (200m, 400m etc, try to increase your total distance week to week) the other sessions. Make sure to keep your stroke choice varied. Make sure your form is correct, butterfly is especially easy to fuck up so be careful on that. At the end of your sessions work for 5-10 minutes on dive starts, fast tumble turns, proper starts off the wall.

wear sandals in the locker room so you don't slip on the cum covered floor.

-NEVER skip a warm-up
-swim slowly, focus on proper technique rather than speed/distance
-breathing+kick timing is tricky, be sure to practice those
-gear is KEY (ignore any faggot who says otherwise)
-WET sauna after practice = good
-always watch videos on youtube to help you improve + get you motivated - olympics, technique, etc.
