>you gotta eat more calories than you burn to gain muscle
>if you wanna escape skinnyfat, eat below tdee and lift weights
Bulking/cutting is a fucking meme. You can lose weight and build muscle. I've done it. Fat gets prioritized over muscle in weight loss, as long as one is eating a relatively high protein diet.

It's not just about protein. The idea of bulking is that you have more reserve energy needed for the build up of muscle. If your body is burning more than it intakes, then it's not going to have enough energy to efficiently dedicate to anabolism.
1000+ calorie bills are a meme, but slow bulks of 3-500+ calories are not.

Please just start off your post with "I have autism" so I know to ignore you.

Shut the fuck up

Do you have a source for this? Genuinely curious.

I can see bulking being good for those who literally want to gain weight (obviously they will be gaining weight). But I think most people's problem is that they're already at the weight they should be, they just have fat where muscle should be. At least, that's my situation. I'm a fatass that's trying to cut down to 190 and then eat at maintenance. /fit/ always tries to tell me that I need to cut till im skinny then bulk back up. That's fucking bull
What is eating at maintenance.

building muscle and losing fat are not exclusive to each other

So what do I do?

I know it's BB.com, but look at the reference at the bottom in relation to bulking. I'm phoneposting so I can't easily link it, but it does talk about how caloric surplus does aid in anabolism
