Quick question. I've just started the GSLP. Just completed my first ever day. My question is: is it bad/counter-productive to throw in miscellaneous exercises in that are not on the program? What if I go on a random machine for a couple sets or maybe do some bicep curls? or should I stick to the program strictly?

GSLP is more of a training guideline. The lifts and shit you do don't matter as much as the philosophy beind them. That said there's about ten thousand GSLP variants out there that incorporate a myriad of different lifts. I'm sure if you wanted a GS program with curls and random machine work in it, then there's probably 100 of them on the internet.
My advice to you would be to find a program or GS varient that has the lifts in it you want. If you feel the need to ask this question, then you don't have enough expirience to be tinkering with it yourself.
