There is a little science behind this but probably a mental thing you just needed to break on your own. PRs become mental when you get into it, and you may be capable but your mind will block you from finishing it sometimes.

Just keep telling yourself that you will lift the weight you have on on the bar. As long as you're capable of lifting it and have enough adrenaline to lift it completely you can do it.
