You don't try to hit triceps by themselves. You're going to hit them anyway when you do almost any pressing exercise. If you only do bench press and overhead press, you'll notice triceps gains.

But if you want to isolate them more, then dips and skullcrushers are really good. The more vertical your upper body is while doing dips, the more tension will be placed on your triceps. When you lean forward, you activate your chest more. Pushups are always good for pumping up your tris while still working other parts of your body, too.

I do cable extensions with the V-shaped attachment but I also stand a couple feet away from the stack so the cable makes a ~45 degree angle with the ground and my shit is all pulled back pretty hard. max resistance is just before max extension, so the contraction still has weight on it with my arms straight. pretty solid contractions, imo.
